Levels of Reiki

Shoden - The First Level

This is the first level of Reiki training. In this training session, you learn the basics about Reiki, its rich history, self-Reiki treatments, giving Reiki treatment to someone else. You also get attuned to the universal source energy for life so that you can channel this energy to treat anyone during your life.

During a Shoden session, you learn to open up the energy channels in order to channel Reiki energy. After being initiated in the Usui Tibetan system, you will notice subtle changes of energy flow inside your hands. You might feel the change in various different ways – coolness, heat, prickly, buzzing, and tingling or simply a strange sensation in your hands. There is no hard and fast rule as to when this change in the sensation starts; it might take a considerable period of time before you begin to notice it.

The first level of Reiki training does not require special training or prior experience. The basic purpose of this level is to connect you with the universal energy system. The initiation opens up the energy channel from the crown chakra to the root chakra (from the tip of the head to the end of the spine).

The level one of the Reiki training course gives you basic information about basic hand positions for treating self and others, chakra balancing with Reiki, Qi gong based Reiki exercises, meditation techniques, basic Reiki principles, Reiki history, and information about various Reiki treatments.

There are a number of benefits of Shoden level of Reiki; while each person reacts differently to it, some of the common benefits of it are:

o Increase in the levels of energy

o Increased feeling of relief and relaxation

o Decrease in stress levels and depression

o Feeling peaceful and calm

o Greater general understanding of self

o Greater ability to tap into the universal source of energy

o Deeper feelings of spirituality and connection with the Universal Energy
